31 Random Facts About Me
Here are some random pieces of information about me, just in case you were interested!
1. I am a fully qualified physiotherapist with most experience in musculoskeletal outpatients and neurological rehabilitation.
2. If you ask someone what they think about when they hear my name, 99% of the time they will say ‘hair’ or ‘crazy’.
3. I wear hearing aids in both ears most of the time but I can cope without them. I have hereditary degenerative hearing loss and didn’t start wearing them until I was 23, even though I needed them from a much younger age.
4. Until I was 17 I wanted to be a vet and attended some workshop courses at a university to gain experience and knowledge in some skills- the only time I put my hand up a cows bum was in a dance show! (It wasn’t a real cow)
5. I have danced since I was 4: ballet, tap and modern mostly but I have also done street, contemporary, jazz and lindy hop.
6. I competed with my street dance team many times, including in Spain where we won first place and had an epic night out- dance offs like you see in the movies are real!
7. I worked as a dance coach for a gymnastics centre and choreographed acro routines that were competed in national competitions.
8. I chill to indie-folk music and anything acoustic. I am more recently discovering rap and how difficult the theory of writing it is- it’s fascinating!
9. I started playing 5-a-side football when I was 24 until I dislocated my ankle. It took months of hiking before it felt better!
10. I have injured almost every part of my body in the past which massively helps when working in physiotherapy because I can empathise and know first-hand what’s best to do and what to expect.
11. I love the theatre.
12. Hiking, mountains, waterfalls and sunsets are some of my favourite things.
13. During my travels I have developed a fear of heights- almost falling off a cliff a few times probably didn’t help!
14. I now hate flying. I have now been on a plane so many times (I’ve lost count) that there is no element of fun to it anymore. I also feel like the more I fly, the more likely I am going to be involved in a plane crash. Every time there is turbulence I am one of those people who grips on to the arms of the chair and has white knuckles until it’s over. The fact that the media seems to be highlighting more and more plane crashes recently does not help.
15. I can’t sleep on transport. The longest I was awake was almost 40 hours with a long layover in Christchurch where they have sleep police to stop you sleeping in the airport!
16. I enjoy trying new things, even if I make a fool out of myself- I love an adrenaline rush! I’ve done a bungee jump and got dunked in a glacial River, canyon swings, a sky dive, abseiling, zip lines, climbing, and been on the fastest roller coaster in the world where I nearly passed out from the G Force!
17. Ed Sheeran’s music got me through university stress and anxiety- before he was hugely well known.
18. I have suffered with anxiety for years and always felt the need to have a plan but this was really helped by travelling.
19. I do a 15 minute mindfulness mediation every day to help me unwind.
20. In my early 20s I gained 2 stone even though I was exercising, eating minimally and eating healthily – I lost the weight again in 3 months as soon as I changed my diet, started eating more, and stopped hormonal contraception. I am passionate about spreading the word as most girls I know have a food intolerance of some form which developed in their 20s!
21. I have been following the low FODMAP diet for the best part of 4 years to control IBS and it changed my life.
22. I love roasted chicken- if I could eat it all day everyday I would.
23. I never had a cup of coffee until 2016 and became addicted whilst I was travelling (it’s tiring!)- I am now trying my best not to drink it every day and replacing it with a green tea or smoothie instead.
24. My favourite tipple is rhubarb and ginger gin with ginger ale- it’s so refreshing.
25. I was a runner-up in a modelling competition and did a catwalk in the middle of a shopping centre.

27. I love sweet things, especially cake and chocolate.
28. I am a very arty person- you name it, I’ve probably tried it.
29. I am self-taught in computer graphics and web design but I did gain a diploma in college. I’d love to explore this more as a career if possible.
30. Apparently I stick my tongue out in a lot of photos and make a lot of weird noises in general. That’s just me.
31. We got a boarder terrier puppy called Rufus (or Roo for short) in 2018 and he’s adorable.
